Data Fields For Uploading
Data Fields The following tables list all the fields included in our database and used in the on-line Sellers Form. Your data file need not include all the fields and the later fields are specific items used on the form to elicit more detailed information but displayed as a continuation of the summary. Fields may be left blank for a default value.
Field Names The field names are those we use. Yours may be different and will be mapped to ours.
Listing ID and Reference The Listing Reference is used to identify your business when buyers wish to contact you. The Listing ID is a unique identifier - for example, your database identifier - only needed when Listing References are not unique, as when businesses are listed in two or more sectors. If only one identifier is provided it will be used as the Listing Reference and each unique Listing Reference will be loaded only once with no guarantee as to which replicate is loaded. Both fields are treated as text.
Sectors And Sub-Sectors Your business sectors may be mapped to ours or included as new sectors or sub-sectors. See Sectors And Sub-Sectors for full lists. Individual businesses may be moved later to more appropriate sectors or sub-sectors. Both fields may be supplied as proper names or alpha-numeric codes with a table to map the codes.
Countries And Regions Businesses are listed by country and region. In general the region is the state, province, county or major city, etc. See Countries And Regions for full lists. Your countries and regions will be mapped to ours or included as appropriate. Both fields may be supplied as proper names or alpha-numeric codes with a table to map the codes. Country may be omitted if it is the same for all businesses. More specific locations such as town or borough may be included in the summary.
Price Variables The values of variables such as Price are stored as integers and assumed to be in the local currency. It is more convenient and less ambiguous and error-prone if they are presented as integers without thousand separators. Both decimal and thousand separators vary between countries and may be misinterpreted.
Yes-No Variables the values of variables such as Relocatable will be mapped to Yes and No.
Broker And Photo Urls You may include a business-specific link to your website for more details for each business. You may also include a link to your website for a photograph for each business which will be displayed alongside the details.
